'Chance to Discipline America Won't Come Again': Iran's Abbas Araghchi Issues Strong Warning (X)

Tehran: Amid rising tensions with the US, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has issued a strong statement. He said that Iran's priority now is to teach America a lesson and also stated that the scope for a deal with America has ended.

The statement comes after a US-Israeli attack targeted a key bridge in Iran. Iran has said that it is ready to go to any extent to avenge the attack on its infrastructure.

What did Araghchi warn?

Iranian Foreign Minister Araghchi said, "Bridges can be rebuilt, but the opportunity to discipline America will not come again."

Abbas Araghchi also said that Tehran wants to secure the conditions for a "decisive and lasting" end to the war imposed on the country by the US and Israel.

"We are concerned that the illegal war imposed on us comes to a decisive and lasting end," the Iranian Foreign Minister said.

Is Iran not ready to meet with US?

The Wall Street Journal reported on Friday that Iran has officially told mediators that it is not willing to meet with US officials in Islamabad in the coming days and considers US demands unacceptable.

Iran's semi-official news agency, Fars, quoted an informed source as saying early Friday that Iran had rejected a US proposal for a 48-hour ceasefire sent the previous day through a "friendly" country.

Were warning against attack on nuclear plant issued?

Araghchi also said that the radioactive radiation released from the repeated attacks on the Bushehr nuclear power plant will destroy life not just in Tehran but in the capitals of surrounding countries.

The Iranian Foreign Minister accused Western governments of keeping silent about the repeated attacks on their nuclear plants.

When was the plant attacked?

Iran's Bushehr nuclear plant was attacked for the fourth time on Saturday, killing a security guard and damaging a building. According to the International Atomic Energy Agency, there has been no increase in radiation levels.
